FEATURED PREMIUM WINE
Grgich Hill Wines
Miljenko "Mike" Grgich first gained international recognition at the celebrated "Paris Tasting" of 1976. There, in a now-historic blind tasting, a panel of eminent French judges swirled, sniffed, and sipped an array of the fabled white Burgundies of France and a small sampling of upstart Chardonnays from the Napa Valley. When their scores were tallied, the French judges were shocked: they had chosen Mike's 1973 Chateau Montelena Chardonnay as the finest white wine in the world. Mon Dieu! The results stunned the international wine establishment and immediately earned Mike Grgich a reputation as one of the greatest winemakers in the world.

EXCEPTIONAL - Restaurant Wine, Issue #81- "Fleshy, somewhat oaky, and full bodied, this is an exceptional Cabernet, in a complex, toasty style. It has medium richness, good balance, and aromas/flavors reminiscent of plum, blackberry, smoky oak, vanilla, and tobacco."

Wine & Spirits, August 2002. 90 points - 2002 Beverage Testing Institute. A touch more elegant and refined than our extremely successful 1997 which won nine gold medals, this Cabernet has a seductive aroma that almost visibly wafts out of the glass to meet you like a genie out of its bottle. |

Wine Enthusiast. 90 points - Connoisseurs' Guide. 90 points - 2003 Beverage Testing Institute. The 1999 vintage in the Napa Valley was blessed with plenty of summer sunshine and a lengthy harvest. These conditions allowed the grapes to stay on the vines longer than usual, thereby producing all the glorious flavors and aromas of perfectly matured grapes.
